Firstly, this week, a big well done to the 7's. Having had the nightmare of a performance and result just before Christmas, they really needed to pick themselves up and get back on track. The signs were there last week when a much better performance gave them a 1-1 draw, but there was still work to be done but thr determination to get it right has come through, and by all accounts the 7's were back to their best yesterday with an impressive 2-1 win at 2nd placed BB Eagles, which hauls them right back into the promotion race. An example to us all of turning things round after a disaster.

Yesterday, I watched the 4's v 5's (in probably their biggest crowd of the season, thanks to the added support of the 8's Bacon sandwich brigade) and as ever with interclub league games it was a typical feisty derby-like affair, but overall played in a good spirit. The 4's ran out 3-1 winners, but not without a few scares, and had Ben Townsend not made an excellent save at 2-0 tipping a certain goalbound shot onto the bar then things might have been different. I have been impressed with the 4's this season, where Trevor and Stu have had to do a total rebuild from last season and the run they are putting together now justifies the patience they have taken in doing this. Yesterday they looked a solid unit and worked very hard for each other, good ethics for a team that is now climbing the table. The 5's did give them a stiff test though and after what was described by themselves as a poor performance last week, they were much improved yesterday. I'll leave the last word to 4th team captain Stu here - "If they play like that every week they won't have a problem winning games".

Well done to the 2's also who are also on the rise and consolidated that further yesterday with a good point against high flying Old Westminster Citizens.

So we have a few teams in the club now having a good run and becoming handily placed in the league. The club is definitley on the rise in terms of results, and the stats back this up. Look at the stats page; for the first time this season cumulatively we have now won more games than we have lost and if you look at the form guide 7 out of 8 sides are now green status. This is excellent and we should all pat ourselves on the back. However the job is not even half done yet and we should very much beware complacency. We need to continue to work hard to maintain this. That means getting to training when we can, not letting our teammates down and ensuring that we all pull together. Yesterday we lost more games to the weather and there are some sides who are having a very broken up set of fixtures because of this. We need to ensure that this doesn't make us lose focus and must make sure that we concentrate on getting it right. There is no doubt that we as a club are having a good season - lets all make that extra effort to make it a great one!
